** Football League Notes **
Stockport County was relegated from the Second Division, while Grimsby Town was already in
the Third Division in last season's Football League. Grimsby Town was the only club from
Third Division to be moved to the new Third Division North, while the rest of the Third
Division clubs formed the South Division. All other clubs listed in the Third Division
North were elected from the old Northern League, the Southern League, the Central League,
the Midland League, the North East League, the Birmingham and District League and the
Lancashire Combination.

** Football League Notes **
Aberdare Athletic gained entry to the Football League Third Division South in
time for 1921–22 season after finishing as runners-up in their first season in
the Southern League. Charlton Athletic were accepted by the Southern League and
played just a single season before being voted into the Football League. All the
other clubs were already in the Football League's Third Division, only Grimsby Town
was moved to the North, while the rest stayed in the Third Division South.
